Greg Olund and Mitch Waltman join NGL’s Employee Benefits Team

National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) is pleased to announce the addition of Greg Olund as National Sales, Vice President – Employee Benefits and Mitch Waltman as Strategic Partner & TPA Relationship Manager. Olund and Waltman join the Employee Benefits team as NGL looks to further expand its ancillary insurance lines of business.   

Working closely with partners to design and implement valuable benefit programs, NGL offers dental, vision and hospital indemnity coverage. Partnerships are crafted to help individuals confidently manage their health, financial security and well-being.

Olund has extensive experience in ancillary coverage lines developing strong industry relationships and partnerships. His background includes business development, sales, program management, product development, compliance and underwriting.

Olund has held senior sales roles at a variety of insurance companies, including most recently at Cigna Healthcare where he was the dental sales lead for individual and family plans. During his tenure he located and successfully contracted with entities by engaging with distribution leaders, along with nurturing and growing existing relationships.

Olund is licensed nationally in the health and life insurance lines and attended Austin Technical College and the University of Minnesota, completing a business program, with an emphasis on professional sales.

Olund hails from Minnesota and resides in Chanhassen, Minn. with his wife Pamela who are the proud parents of two young adults.     

Mitch Waltman, Strategic Partner & TPA Relationship Manager-Employee Benefits

Waltman has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance, employee benefits, reinsurance and insurance premium finance sectors of the financial services industry. In his role at NGL, he will be responsible for cultivating and managing strategic partnerships and overseeing Third-Party Administrators to ensure alignment with the team’s key strategic initiatives and operational standards.

Waltman has extensive experience in the management of large portfolios of business, developing new business opportunities, ancillary product-development, as well as thought leadership marketing activities such as industry conference speaking engagements and publication in industry trade journals. His career background includes senior-level roles with business development, sales and account management, and underwriting responsibilities.

Waltman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud. Minn. He also holds a certificate in Accounting and Finance from University of St. Thomas-Opus College of Business in St. Paul, Minn.

Waltman grew up in central Minnesota and currently lives in Rosemount with his son, Maxwell, and their Goldendoodle, Bauer. He is dedicated to giving back and helping others in his community and has volunteered as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities.
